UEZ (Urban Enterprise Zone)

What is the UEZ? Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) is the State of New Jersey program and designation for areas in an Urban municipality which provides certain benefits to businesses operating or looking to relocate to an UEZ area. 

Why should a Plainfield business join the UEZ?  Your business will eligible for the many UEZ benefits including the ability to charge a reduced sales tax to your patrons  and  receive incentives to support your business.  See link to UEZ for additional information on the program

Before applying for the UEZ Program create an account with Premier Business Services (PBS)            

            You will need the following information:

  • Tax ID number
  • Name of Business
  • Business Address
  • Business Owner information
  • Mailing address (if different than business address)
  • Type of business (Sole proprietorship, LLC, Corp, etc.)
  • Year business was registered
      Step by step instructions will be available, as well as, a phone number if you need live assistance.
    After a 2 to 3 day turnaround log into your Premier Business Account, the option to get your business UEZ
    Certified will be available
    Please note - You need to remember your log-in ID and password for your PBS account.
